Parixol contains Pramipexole, a selective dopamine D2/D3 receptor agonist.
It stimulates dopamine receptors in the striatum, improving motor function in Parkinson’s disease.

Parkinson’s disease:

Pediatrics: Not recommended in patients under 18 years.
Common adverse effects include:
Neurological: Dizziness, somnolence, sudden sleep onset, confusion, hallucinations, delusions, abnormal dreams, paranoia.
Gastrointestinal: Nausea, constipation.
Cardiovascular: Hypotension, peripheral edema.
Behavioral: Impulse-control disorders (pathological gambling, hypersexuality, binge eating).
Others: Dyskinesia, headache, hyperkinesia, rash/itching, weight gain, libido changes.
Cimetidine, Amantadine → may reduce renal clearance of pramipexole.
Alcohol or sedatives → additive CNS depressive effects.
Minimal interactions as Parixol is not metabolized by P450 enzymes
Hypersensitivity to Pramipexole or any excipients.
Caution in psychotic disorders, renal impairment, and severe cardiovascular disease.
Regular ophthalmologic monitoring advised.
Risk of sudden sleep episodes—avoid driving or operating machinery
